The ISLA 171 has a soft chine hull that blends into a more rounded shape moving towards bow and stern and a right amount of rocker for excellent maneuverability. The ISLA 171 glides extremely well thanks to the long waterline. The reduced BMAX – placed just at the paddler abdomen – provides for a very good speed and acceleration in flat water combined with a safe and steady ride when paddling downwind in conditions. The cockpit is designed for an excellent lumbar support, with a high front deck to optimize the paddling posture during long expeditions and correctly placed thight braces for a solid contact while edging or rolling the kayak.
In our tests the ISLA 171 is a comfortable, fast, easy to maneuver and good stowage volume kayak suited for a single day paddle or a full week expedition. All this in a polyethylene kayak!
